4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book showing over 275 timbers in colour, 7 Feb 1999
By A Customer
This book provides the reader with coloured photographs of over 275 timbers.

Each coloured photograph is given its own page with supporting text on the timber.

Some of the pictures could be improved, but apart from that this is a good book for all those interested in timber.

In short, this is a simple and quick guide to timber identification.

5.0 out of 5 stars A pity, 1 April 2001
By A Customer
This is a tried formula for books on wood. Unfortunately the author neglected to get proper pictures of his woods, which makes this book close to unusable (there are quite a few clearly incorrect pictures). Whatever you do, don't try and identify wood with this book!
