Ibsen was ahead of his time! His plays are as honest and current today as the day he wrote them. Ibsen has a way of looking at the world that is insightful and meaningful. The themes of his plays can be translated to current local goverenment and socio/economic situations and problems. This edition give the newcommer a concise insight into a true dramatic genius. Females should read 'A Dolls House' First!

Active Table of Contents? Not so much 17 Aug 2011

I bought this edition because it was the complete works with an "active table of contents." As far as I can tell, in the finished product, there is no Table of Contents at all. That option is grayed out in the "go to" menu on both my Kindle and the Kindle Cloud player.

This makes an edition like this basically useless. If I can't find what's in it and then jump to the play I want to read, it's essentially unnavigable. It's also impossible to tell whether this is the complete works or just selected works. The list on the Amazon page didn't list major plays like The Wild Duck and The Master Builder. Without a Table of Contents, I can't tell if they're in this book unless I flip through every page of the book.

If someone wants to tell me I'm doing something wrong that I can correct, I'll gladly edit this review. But from here, this product is not as advertised.
