Product Description

Product Description

Here is the complete story of all the Ford Escorts which were rallied and raced by factory teams for more than 30 years. This story started in 1968, and came to a colourful conclusion in 1998, when the Escort was finally supplanted by the equally glamorous Focus WRC. The fully updated fourth edition of this best-selling book includes details of all the 'works' Escort RS Cosworth and Escort WRC cars which won so many world-class events in the 1990s.

About the Author

Graham Robson has been a rallying enthusiast for many years, as a competitor, organiser, team manager and historian. His work with Ford has given him an 'inside track' on the Escort generation. He lives near Bridport, Dorset.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Works Escorts by Graham Robson, 3 Mar 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: The Works Escorts (Hardcover)
This book is a must for any Escort enthusiast. It is a comprehensive record of the Escort in competition, from the Mk1 right up to the World Rally Car. There are loads of photo's throughout the book, mainly black & white but there are also two colour sections as well. At the back of the book there is a full list of the Escorts results & statistics. Brilliantly written as ever by Graham Robson. Easily the best Escort book available.

2.0 out of 5 stars Make sure you are buying the right edition., 5 Mar 2011
This review is from: The Works Escorts (Hardcover)
I bought what I thought was the 4th edition, published 2003 and covering all rally Escorts through until the final Cosworths in the 1990s. I received the second edition (published 1982, coverage stops at end of 1977). While this was well written and exhaustive in content, as Grahanm Robson's books always are, it is completely obsolete and pointless. My case was quickly resolved by the seller, but the problem was caused by Amazon's headings for used copies which did not distinguish between the editions. So read the small print in detail, and if possible ask the seller to confirm the edition before buying.
