5.0 out of 5 stars Disney the Eisner Way - An excellent read, 9 Aug 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Work in Progress (Hardcover)
I have read this book twice now and found it more interesting the second time.
It details Eisners time from pre-disney to the near present and includes much about the much maligned euro-disney farce.

It gives a good insight into the inner sanctum of Disney and the life and times of a top executive in a major company.

I found it riveting reading and a real kick up the backside to do something about my own career.

Not everyones an Eisner but his go get'em approach as detailed in the book is highly motivating.

For true disney fans, those who want to know the workings of disney and those who want to see what goes on in the life of a CEO, this is the best read you can get.

Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars A sanitised version of events, but still fascinating events!, 9 Jul 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Work in Progress (Hardcover)
Michael Eisner enjoys his work, that is plain to see. His descriptions of momentus business deals and, seemingly, insurmountable challenges were so self effacing that I was left feeling "I could do that."

This book is a must for anyone who still views Disney as that cosy, comfy outfit run by Uncle Walt and his kin. Eisner leaves us in no doubt that Disney is truely one of the world's mega corporations, acquisitive, focussed and powerful.

My interset has been pricked in reading other people's accounts of the events Eisner describes as I was left with the impression that I was being presented the sanitised version of events.

Take the Mickey if you like but Disney is fascinating.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, but not as interesting as it could be., 9 Jun 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Work in Progress (Hardcover)
On the whole, this is a pretty interesting book, and probably tells you more than you ever needed to know about Disney and Eisner. But for such a potentially captivating subject, later sections of the book become quite dull, and it often feels as if the reader is getting a Disneyfied version of events. Also marred by a few typos.
