they've said they've been writing for the fourth album, and with all the song released before including 'Stop me from loving you' (b-side to chain reaction) and Bittersweet (b-side to words are not enough) it's bound to be a classic, possibly one of the best! There's an extra special treat on this single, with three songs including I know him so well from the musical chess, and the best thing is they've proved that they can sing it live at the steptacular tour and thay've again proved that they can sing live with a live performance of i know him so well and the stage show version of tragedy from saturday night fever. They've also proved that they can sing words are not enough live aswell as many of the promotional appearances were sung live. All you need to do to see steps' popularity right now is to look at the album charts...

This is a great single by Steps. One of there best songs from there greatest hits album "Gold." It is a calm more slow song, but is still full of that "pop" we all love. What the song is saying is that sometimes words are just not enough, and you have to show a little emotion once in a while. Other tracks on this single include, "Bittersweet" and "I know him so well." These are also great songs but honestly not worthy of release. Well, that's all. Everyone enjoy this single and get it to #1.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best slow Steps song ever released? 22 Nov 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Many people dismiss Steps as the most bubblegum pop group of the time. This is true when they do fast songs but when they come to doing slow ballads they are still leaps ahead of the rest!

This single proves how strong their vocals are (especially the girls on I know Him So Well) and it also proves that they can write their own songs with Bittersweet (the b-side) being co-written by Lisa.

Words are not Enough lets every member take lead vocals, and they all sound brilliant. And I know him so well is as good as, if not better, than the original with the girls sounding great!

Three songs on one single, you couldn't get much better value than that. Steps have set the standard for all pop groups to come, in the ballad stakes, AND the fast songs too.

Come everyone buy this for a loved one (it's so heartfelt) and make this Steps biggest hit yet, perfect to play at any time of year, and not too 'Steps-esque' for even the hardest of people!!

5.0 out of 5 stars slow steps at there best! 13 Nov 2001

after lisening to heartbeat and when i said good bye and if you belive, i was disapointed at steps effort for a ballard after hearing the brillant upbeat pop music. I then heard this and i was a amzared and wasnt even sure if it was steps. The wonderfully constructed lycis are both romantic and smooth the flow together brillantly.
thumbs up to steps!
