I was disappointed - I have to be honest. While I realised that this was an introductory book, I had expected it to go a little beyond very drawn out explanations of things that anyone who has used a computer before could discover intuitively. That's a bit harsh, perhaps - this book WILL help someone who is afraid of experimenting have a go and produce a credible first stab at a Wordpress site. However, it won't help you address many of the slightly tougher elements, such as creating static pages, adding forms, and having multiple postings on one page.

Excellent book on how to build a Wordpress website (as opposed to a Wordpress Blog). Covers the subject well and in detail without being too technical, so ideal for anyone looking to build their own site. I would definitely recommend it.

I have looked long and hard over everything that's available online for anyone that was interested in starting out on wordpress.
But before that, any question that you ever wanted to know is available on the internet, somewhere, before someone says that.
This book written by George Plumley assumes nothing, its very clear the extra tips that he gives would be welcome even for the most experienced of users.He covers everything, logically,and that's important to me. The DVD that comes with the book is a joy to use, its broken up into chapters so you can follow along as he shows you how to use Wordpress to make and maintain a site. There is an awful lot in there at 306 pages you will love this book. Most other books take so long over the history and intro to Wordpress and it's installation and leave little in content for the rest of the books that I have seen , this on the other hand is so well structured its been a pleasure and is very good value. review By Donny

This book does gives you a great insight into how Wordpress works and it is a good start point for anyone.
