5.0 out of 5 stars Fast moving show - "yes chef" 13 Mar 2014

Very entertaining. Does make cooking seem too simple though. The side stories are done well. I wish he would lose the recipe challenge more often.

Not much to say other than if you like Gordon Ramsay and his style of cooking, this is a great show to watch if you are interested in seeing great competition along with interesting food.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bring back this great show! 29 July 2012
By Ghenghis - Published on
If you are a Gordon Ramsay fan, and your only exposure has been the ever
increasing silliness of Hells Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares, you are in
for a real treat!

This is where Gordon is truly in his element...freestyle! You get all of
his charm, wit, humor, and force of personality without all the drama of
the Americanized series. Each season of The F Word builds on the last, and
Season/Series 5 is the hands down best of the entire collection.

The F Word kitchen always has two teams competing against each other, but
in Season 5, he has searched the countryside high and low to find the best
of North African, French, Chinese, Thai, Indian, etc. In the end, all of
the finalists have to survive secret diners, critics, and a busload of diners
that descend and order all at once, which tends to throw any kitchen into
panic mode. The best of each category are invited to the F Word kitchen for
a literal Battle Royale to determine the Best of Britain.

Oh yeah, who decides? Well there are about 50 guests in the restaurant that
judge starters, entree, and dessert. Scores are tallied up and the winners
move on to the next round, tournament style. And if you were wondering, this
is totally uncensored... totally. LOL Its great fun for everybody, and maybe
the best thing is... Gordon is actually having a blast with this series.

I was sad to see it hadnt been renewed. Looks like 2009 was the last year of
this great show. Who knows, hopefully Gordon will get sick of doing this
meaningless crap on Fox Network and return to his roots someday.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gordon Ramsay Searches for the Best Restaurants in the UK 6 Jan 2012
By S. Jefferson - Published on
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Gordon Ramsay continues his highly enjoyable F Word series with a new twist for season 5. He searchs for the best two restaurants in different cuisines, French, Italian, Thai, Chinese, etc., all across the UK and has them compete in the F Word kitchen head to head - 25 starters, 50 entrees, and 25 desserts. The winners from each weekly show compete in an elimination series to see who will become the best overall restaurant in the UK - according to G. Ramsay's exacting 3 star Michelin standards. There are some extremely talented chefs in the UK and their talents are showcased well in this series. Be on the look out for the "Dragon Lady" who is the Thai female version of Gordon Ramsay!
