I bought this book thinking it would be a good story and it was however had I known I was going to pay £5.30 plus £3.93 post and packing for a book with 57 pages I would not have bought the book The story starts on page 11 there are no pages 1 to 10 and it finished on page 68. The print is large enough for me to read without my glasses. I cannot read a newspaper without my glasses so in reality this book is probably about 30 pages of actual story. I would advise everyone thinking of buying the book not to bother. Send a cheque to your local dog shelter their thankyou letter will have as much content and give you a bigger feel good factor,

A Dog Named Word

Every person of every age should read this book. Florence Petheram tells the story of a seemingly doomed dog named Word, and happily for us all, this story has a happy ending. Florence should be sharpening her pencil to sign the movie rights for this inspirational story of a dog whose journey to happiness will touch the lives of us all.

Nice basic read (good for kids to read to become familiar with the animal misuse happening in the world). Hopefully will inspire more kids to take up action against the wrongs committed against animals. A good read to help a good cause.

This is well written, but such a sad story; I cried throughout the book. Tears of sadness changed to tears of joy by the end. Excellent book.
