Perfect Swaddle 28 Sept. 2011

Butchers wife here...We have tried several swaddling products including the larger muslin blankets, swaddling blankets, as well as the precut swaddles. Our son is 11 weeks old now and almost ready to sleep swaddle free. Here is my run down of the product:

-provides the option of arms swaddle or unswaddled and the snaps are strong enough there is no risk of the baby opening the arm holes;
-allows the baby some movement and mobility but still gives the baby the coddled feeling;
-the bottom up and top down zipper allows for easy diaper changes in the middle of the night (the others with velcro scare my child when opening no matter how gentle we were with velcro)
-the material is the perfect weight to go over a light sleeper and keep baby comfortable;
-stretches with the baby and allows the childs arms to be at his/her side or on their chest;
-safe - does not ride up or come unswaddled leaving bulky material near your childs face (our experience was the "blankets" or pre-cut swaddle products put the childs arms at their side and the child can lift up their arms which makes the material ride up around their neck.)

-allows for some movement(if your child needs its arms glued to its sides then this is not the product for you)
-price- you should always have more than one on hand just in case of a middle of the night diaper leak but the price is a little high to have more than one or two.

Great Swaddle for the transitioning baby! 5 Jan. 2012
By Christine Kruse - Published on
My son started rolling in his swaddle very early (4 months-ish). We tried to go cold turkey with his arms out of a different type of swaddle, but he was just not having it. Prior to rolling, he was breaking out of his swaddles each night.

We were looking for another option and I borrowed the original Woombie from a friend. He couldn't break out of it was a great solution until he started rolling.

When he started rolling, we bought the Convertible Woombie. Unlike a lot of swaddles, you can have one arm in and one arm out with the Convertible Woombie. This greatly, greatly helped transition to unswaddled sleep. He now sleeps well with his arms out but still in the body of the Woombie.

If you are looking for a swaddle type product to help ease the transition from swaddled to unswaddled, this is a great option. Most other options only allow both arms out or no arms out.

I love this! 4 Feb. 2013

My daughter has been swaddled from day one and she loves it. Unfortunately, she started rolled from back to belly so I had to transition her and let her sleep with her arms out. She still sleeps with this at 7 months and I am purchasing more as she is almost out of this size. Way better thank a sleep sack!

Love it! 22 May 2013

This item worked great! Dylan loves it and it fits him perfect. We are still swaddling him at 9 months for sleeping and his swaddles were getting too small. This is great!

Big Baby size too tight for 17 lb 3.5 month old, wish we sized up 15 Aug. 2014

The Woombie is a quality product, just not the product for us. We purchased this as a transitional piece for our baby. She still needed swaddling some of the time, but was starting to show signs of being ready to have her arms free at night. Our girl also struggled with some pretty sever colic/tummy issues for the first 5 months of life. We tried everything from gas drops to elimination diets (I exclusively breastfeed) with no luck. I had heard that the tapered waist on the Woombie might help with some of her gas issues...

We bought the "Big Baby" size for our 17 lb 3.5 month old. It was a very snug fit. I know this is intentional, but our baby didn't like it as much as the looser fitting sleep sacks we own. The tight fit also did nothing to help her tummy, unfortunately.

The snapping arm feature is really nice. And she definitely couldn't get out of the "swaddle" which was a real relief! But it felt like she was a little too swaddled sometimes, and she didn't seem to enjoy it. Because the sack was so snug and our baby was at the higher end of the weight limit for the "Big Baby" size, she outgrew this very quickly. I know they say to not size up, but this sack fit so tight I really think we would have been fine to do so.

The zipper being able to be opened from top or bottom was a nice touch. Great for quick nighttime diaper changes especially!

The print and colors are also very cute in person. We loved the pink stripes.
