Genius Knitting 6 Mar 2009
Format:Paperback
This book is well written, thought out and presented. Anyone interested in a more unusual style of knitting incorporating the geometrical shapes into your work, creating unusual eye catching designs, unlocking your maths knitting potential, then this book is for you. A fantastic teaching resource for all ages from small child to adults alike, something for everyone is included here. When they printed "unlock your creative genius" they were not kidding, a truly inspiring book for all.

I got this for christmas along with her Modular Knitting book, I was quite disappointed to realise that they are very similar books, almost identical in places. It looks like she has created two books out of the same script. As far as the book goes it is ok, but in places it is quite basic, if you have any experience of knitting then this might not be for you.

Great Resource--Same info as other title by same authors 1 April 2008
By KnittingMom8 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book contains the same information found in the book No Pattern Knits by the same authors. This book appears to be an earlier version, and I think a more complete one. I was able to check No Pattern Knits out from the library. When I saw this book I had to wonder if it was about the same as the other. Well, it is, and it isn't. The information is the same, but there is a lot more of it in this book. I felt that this book gives more inspriration than the other title. It contains no actual patterns. All the pictures are line drawings except for a few color plates. They stated that they did this so you would not be distracted by the colors, but concentrate on the shapes. The other title is more recent and is full of color pictures. It also contain a few patterns to get you going. But, I don't think it is contains as much written info. and wasn't as inspiring to me. So, either is fine, but I don't really think you need both. Depending on what your preference is, either is good to learn modular knitting from.

UPDATE: I checked the No Pattern Knits out again to make sure my memory was correct. Now that I've seen it again, I really think both books would be good to have. While the majority of the information is the same, they both also contain info that the other book doesn't have. And the pictures in the more recent book are outstanding. The patterns are cute too. I still think Woolly Thoughts has more technical info. Both would be great additions to your knitting library.

Wonderful Book! 26 Feb 2008
By a rose is a rose - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I absolutely LOVE this book! It makes knitting simple but NEVER boring. Step by step instructions as well as drawn illustrations. It explains how you can and should use math in your knitting AND how it is not in the least bit frightening. From one simple garter stitch square, your creations are limitless. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone.

Wonderfully done! Excellent value. 20 Jun 2010
By Jeff Dunham Fan - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Here's a book for all of you who love geometric designs and knitting in one! This book teaches knitters to think outside the words "gauge" and "do this step now". This book is not full of patterns (just an FYI) but rather teaches knitters to think outside the box and produce wonderful works! Well worth the money!!
