T&G's Heveawood kitchen trolleys are made using carefully selected timber. Only the finest Heveawood is used and, like all natural products, every piece of timber has its own characteristics and it is these, the grain, the colour and texture which make each trolley unique. Hevea is a white tropical hardwood from the rubber tree. A useful and attractive timber it is ideally suited to the manufacture of kitchenware. During production each finished trolley-piece is sealed with a protective not-toxic lacquer. This enhances the appearance and prolongs the "working life".
Care Of Your Trolley
During the production process the trolley has been sealed with a protective non-toxic lacquer No polishing is therefore required and the trolley should simply be wiped clean with a damp cloth. However the trolley top, because of frequency of use should be wiped occasionally with vegetable or mineral oil. This will preserve the appearance and enrich the wood.
Every trolley top is suitable for cutting and chopping however as surface cuts and scratches can spoil the appearance, many of our customers use a matching chopping board placed on top. If you wish to cut directly onto your trolley please do. Wooden surfaces have been used for thousands of years to prepare food as they are sympathetic to knives and provide a safe surface when treated with reasonable hygienic care.
To Clean wipe over the surface with a damp cloth. DO NOT OVER WET THE SURFACE.
Please remember that wood is a live product and needs to be treated with care.
