I was 14 when the original film came out, not in this form, I can't help wondering where the rest of the film and sound recordings have got to... We have Hendrix and The Who in a seperate form, but what of the other 80 odd hours of recordings? Why are we just left with about 4 hours in total?
Excellent 12 string Johnny Winter, Leslie West of Mountain moaning at Felix Papillardi, Janis Joplin, what went wrong, she had it made?
The only crib about this is groups like Incredible String Band, they weren't incredible by a long way, Jefferson Airplane are a bit naff too. And there is major snippings going on with Ten Years After's "I'm Going Home" for some reason.
But after spending every night for a fortnight at the cinema when it was released in the original form, I can happily say, although this is worth it, get the other version, The Dirctors Cut is a bit butchered too, so stick with the original, the best one. In the words of Crosby Stills and Nash, "Very free and easy."
