I have long been a fan of Karin from 'Wood You Like' through her help in online forums. Taking the plunge to lay a wooden floor this guide was a must for me. Great little book that as well as giving superb advice also debunks many myths regarding what products can and cannot be used where.
If you are thinking about laying your own wood floor then it really is a must have item but get it at right at the start of the process to gain the nest results.

Not a book as such, more of a DIY help guide and very good it is too! If you are planning to lay a wooden floor for the first time, then this book is a real god send.
Many topics are covered, (eg. preparing an existing floor, glue or nail) and advice is also provided in plain english. If you purchase the book there are so many photos and other floor laying projects giving you ideas, general help and advice which can be viewed if you to visit their web site. If you have laid a floor before then this book may still appeal. It has lots of hints and tips from people who lay the wooden floors for a living. Not celeb DIY'ers here. In short, it's like having an expert on hand to ask how they would get around a specific problem...

This manual puts all the information, including the often misleading and/or vague instruction on the packets, together between two covers and leaves very little doubt on how to go about laying any flooring. I needed to use the secret nailing method and although the detail on this method was limited, all the other advice more than made up for it by having loads of practical and technical included for all the other methods.
