past times, old skills,,
By
This review is from: Woodcraft (Paperback)
written in the 1920s and reissued in the 1960s nessmuk speaks of skills and personalities and his sense of loss as the wilderness he loves is destroyed by the march of progress. His love of the land and wildlife comes across on every page. As a how to book of woodcraft it is dated and Ray mears does it better. but as a book to make you yearn for lost times branches overhead or a paddle in the water as you sit by the fire with a single malt it's well worth the price.

Classic American woodcraft,
This review is from: Woodcraft (Paperback)
This is a classic book with lots of information wrapped up in a story book journey with an old time woodsman. A bit obsessive about canoes but definitely one for the bushcrafter at this price.

Marvelous,

This review is from: Woodcraft (Paperback)
This book is a handy little panflet containing a wealth of information on 'Roughing' it outdoors. However, some of the language used is outdated and this book was written for the American reader, so some of the plants and animals may not live elsewhere
