This clunky road movie about three drag queens (Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes, and John Leguziamo) who get stranded in a sleepy Nebraska town on their way to a beauty contest, is too uplifting for its own good. Released during drag's mid-90s heyday when RuPaul and the Wigstock documentary were all the rage, To Wong Foo aimed straight for the mainstream with its inoffensive camp and "can't we all get along" morality. While gay-activist groups howled about straights getting the lead roles in To Wong Foo, in the end the filmmakers really couldn't have done better than this trio of actors. John Leguziamo provides real sass and bite as a Latino (or should we saw Latina?) drag queen, and Wesley Snipes is surprisingly fierce as the imposing leader of the pack. Saddled with a cloying Southern accent and off-kilter wig, Patrick Swayze barely holds his own with his co-stars, though. The craziest film that will have you in tears of laughter. A film that was meant only to be a bet, spurred into a blockbuster of a movie starring the most unlikeliest of actors that are Wesley Snipes, (yes, him that plays BLADE) and the Dirty Dancer of Patrick Swayze. Playing Drag Queens, Snipes and Swayze give an outstanding performance with a supporting cast from John Leguizamo, (the other Drag Queen). This brings the worlds society of homophobia to a complete new level that will make you understand why men dress up as women.

This film had me in stitches. This film even topped Priscilla Queen of the Desert. The lead roles by Snipes, Swayze & Leguiziamo really portray their charachters well. To see Wesley Snipes take on the role of Miss Noxima Jackson is an amazing barrel of laughs from start to finnish. This film is a must and well worthy of 5 stars!!

How can you bypass a film that boasts Patrick Swayze and Wesley Snipes complete with excessive amounts of satin and mascara, its a classic! Gone are Swayze's Dirty Dancing-famed bum-hugging jeans and jaw-dropping muscles, to be replaced by a super-camp girly voice and stillettos! Even Leguzamo (or some similar spelling!) pulls off a classic ugly duckling transormation from Boy-in-a-dress to Drag-Queen, making it very hard to view his as the angry little prince of cats Tybalt in the recent Romeo and Juliet remake! The film is a clever conbination of reality issues and wigs&wardrobes, it's a feel-good film yet with depth, it'll make you want to hang a picture of Julie Newmar on your dashboard and razz off through America in your clapped-out yellow convertible! "Style or Substance?"...hmmm...this film has both! Watch it-oh and watch out for Rizzo from Grease!

Funny Film
Patrick and Wesley do make very uinconvincing drag queens but they do their best. This is a good film though and worth watching as some of the one liners are great!

Daughter's Favourite Films
My daughter has always loved this film, and it was time to upgrade from VHS to DVD. The DVD arrived very quickly and well packaged.

A FAB FILM
An absolutely fabulous film. The stars pull off their characters really well and they are very believable. Full of laughs and pathos. The sort of film you can watch over again.
