The other review here is not v helpful seeing as the person does not seem to have actually seen the toy!
It is a gorgeous product, lovely quality, all wooden, and the paint has not so far chipped - my 11 month old has been bashing and chewing it for a few weeks now - so it seems to be quite durable.
There are 4 shapes with the sorter, not just the two shown in the picture. Some shape/hole combinations are harder than others, and so it will be a long time before your child gets to grips with it completely, so hopefully will be in use for a long time. The sliding ladybirds are a really good extra feature, as these can be played with by a younger child who could not yet manage to put the shapes in the holes. I think it could be used under supervision from about 6-7 months old, ie as soon as baby can do the pincer grip and sit up for long enough to play with it.
I should add a word of praise for the seller, a small business, who resolved a couple of problems very quickly and clearly takes customer service seriously.
