Format:Audio CD
I love this album. Wonderland is a really uplifting tune, with lyrics hankering after a better world with more understanding and compassion. Sounds soppy but is really mood enhancing. It takes me back to living on my own back in my early twenties and decorating my first flat so takes me right back there to the painted floorboards and woodchip wallpaper ! He writes perfect pop/rock songs which are vastly superior to most of the so called pop performers currently polluting the airwaves. Confident Girl is an excellent pop song, great hooks and lyrics. Into the Night is moody, atmospheric and sexy.Everybody Wants is a reggae influenced plea for more sharing and tolerance. If you like well performed pop music with real feeling then I can recommend this and his earlier albums. Anyone who has not heard him is missing a real treat.

At last, the second of Nils two albums for Backstreet/MCA Records has resurfaced on CD and not before time. 10 tracks which are as rocking as anything Nils offered before, but at last the lyrical bitterness and misoginy has disappeared to be replaced with a worldy wiser style.
Nils keeps up a tradition of covering heroes, and this time it's 'It's All Over Now' which stomps around well. The highlight however are mostly on the first half of the disc, 'Across The Tracks', 'Into The Night' and 'Daddy Dream' all classics (the latter is a great in car song), second half is a bit weaker, but ends on another classic closing Nils song (much like all his previous studio albums), the guitars wailing away in 'Deadline' are superb.
The liner notes reveal the tightness of the band came from lengthy rehearsals of the album tracks, and both Andy Newmark (drums) and Kevin McCormack (bass) have graced later records by Nils.

Forget, Dylan,Springsteen,Young,Fagen,Waters,Gabriel, LOFGREN is the writer player singer the man..overlooked since his first recordings this guy has paid his dues and should be on everyones lips and on everyones player..Nils himself said that this is one of his most favourite recordings, shame the company that released it first time round folded!
