for such exquisitely beautiful music coming from this one time teaming of Antonio Carlos Jobim and the legendary Nelson Riddle who was, for my money, the gretest arranger we ever had. Virtually every track here is flawless but I especially love the instrumental passages, especially Riddle's treatment of the tune "Surfboard".
Its a great loss these two guys didn't do another album together and the talents of both these artists are greatly missed. While I freely admit I purchased this album on Riddle's name, Jobim was also a big factor in purchasing this because I really dig his songs and the fact that he was one of the creators of the bossa nova sound,
a form of music I've always enjoyed. A fine album but too maddeningly short! Enjoy it!
