I bought this book for my 8 year old son, who is completing a school project on the Romans. It is full of fascinating and unusual information that had both my son and I rolling with peels of laughter. I would really recommend this book for a less reverent look at Roman life.

It's one of three to consider buying ("Rome and Romans", "Who were the Romans" are the other two), and it's the one that children really love because it fills in all the bits of Roman life that they want to know about .... answering questions like "why did people throw up at banquets".
