- - Synopsis - -

Women of Ideas (And what men have done to them)
From Aphra Behn to Adrienne Rich.

A history of women's thought. This history is the lost intellectual heritage of women now hopefully rediscovered and set out for all to read.

It is not a mere 'Who's Who' of biographies, but a fascinating study of thoughts and ideas, suppression and resurgence spanning three centuries.

Dale Spender has dug into hidden past and come up with intriguing individual examples of feminine creativity and intellectual prowess which suppressed and swallowed up by a male-dominated world.

This is reference work of great value ans also a stimulating read!.

This is a great book which is also very informative. Spender's books should be compulsory reading for everyone as they really highlight how woemn have been excluded from the world men have controlled.

Dale Spender's, 'Women of Ideas' 27 July 2010

This book should be required reading in the final year of secondary school. It is insightful, well researched and an eye opening view into the history of women in the English speaking Western World. This history needs to be taught as the history of men's ideas already is.

This book explains it all 2 Oct. 2012
By ROBIN ni Dana - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book explains why we have to continually reinvent the wheel of knowledge about women's resistance to our own repression. If you want to know why you don't know of the existence of the AWESOME women who have come before you read this book! This book should be on every woman's shelf.
