My friend had told me about how much she had enjoyed Woman to Woman so I just went along and bought it. After the first few pages I found out my friend was right. This is a kind of book you could stay up and read until three in the morning. You just simply have to read this book.

The book describes two friends whose life is turned upside down and their way to cope with it. One woman is married with two children and the other is single, involved in a long-term relationship. They are both being left by their husband/boyfried. They have to find inner strength to cope with being single again or having a baby for the first time and struggle to overcome the hurt and anger. The book is a little slow in the beginning but catches up after the second chapter. It does describe real-life situations which you can identify with if you have been there (although it is too simplified, and not all divorced woman are happy and "find themselves"). What I liked best is that the end is not that obvious and is more realistic. It is nice to read books about women at the age of 40 and over who can get over a divorce and start a second career.

I found this book very hard to put down, and became absorbed in the lives of Jo and Aisling. Jo and Aisling were likeable and believable characters, and both the storylines were interesting. Even if the plot is predictable, it is an enjoyable, relaxing read, light but not trashy. I will definitely be looking for other books by Cathy Kelly.

I'm not overlly fond of 'warm, witty' reads about middle aged women who get dumped by their husbands-so-they-lose-10 stone-dye their hair-and kick their-loser husbands to the curb for a hot man five years their junior, which Cathy Kelly specializes in, but "Woman to Woman" was better than your average "WW" (as I call them) and I applaud her characters, who seemed so real and more interesting than most, and a juicy (if guilty) storyline which kept me thoroughly entertained. I recommend 'someone like you' and 'she's the one' but the rest of her novels are much too similar.

This was my first book by this author. I didn't buy it but it somehow fell into my hands by chance.
I loved it, I got to really like the characters and they seemed quite taken from real life. I highly recommend it!

Aisling and Jo are 2 very different and very believable three dimensional characters. You naturally warm to them and want to keep reading till the climax. I was particularly interested in Aisling's experience of returning to work. Jo is also interesting as it shows her anxieties of pregnancy. I couldn't put this book down until I reached the last page. An excellent read and my favourite Cathy Kelly novel.

I had read a review about Woman to Woman in a newspaper and bought it thinking I'd probably give up reading it after the first couple of pages as I usually did, but how wrong I was! From the first page I was well and truly hooked, I reckon this is the best book I have ever read, and I couldn't wait for Ms Kelly's next book to appear (which of course I've also read.) A Book to lose yourself in!

This was the first Cathy Kelly book that I read and every time a new one has been released I have rushed out to read the next one. I even had the thrill of meeting her at a book signing, which just added to her total appeal. I look forward to the next one, her first attempt at historical fiction next year.
