Product Description

First published by teNeues in 2001 on the heels of his award-winning book Nudes, this sumptuous collection of powerful, sensuous photographs of the female form is now available in a new hardcover edition designed to appeal to a wide audience. Bitesnich s photographs embrace the classic ideal of womanly beauty and transform it into a sublimely artistic exercise of form, composition, and contrast. By treating his models as truly artistic objects abstract, architectural, and natural Bitesnich imbues his celebration of women with the insight and originality of a true master.

art for art's sake 25 Jun 2002
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
Following on from his other excellent work 'Nude', Bitesnich has compiled a stunning collection of photographs focussing on the female form. His awareness of shape, angle, texture and movement comes through strongly, complementing his trademark playfulness with light and shadow. Basically, this book as beautiful. It serves little purpose other than sheer aesthetics - and it works. Bitesnich shows an understanding and appreciation of the female body which sets him apart from most other nude photographers. It is not seedy or sordid, just honest and deeply sensual.

Bitesnich can be a bit overwhelming. Every image is an incredible woman in a stunning setting... its like eating a giant chocolate bar all at once then feeling a bit ill! However, put the book on a shelf and come back to it every now and then and each image reveals itself to be the work of a consummate professional - the images are all so well thought out and perfectly composed/exposed.

Recommended for inspiration and what feels like a priveleged look at some of the worlds most beautiful women.

What can I say? 3 July 2001
By Savant11 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I bought this book primarily because I am a big fan of Andreas. I bought his first book "Nudes" two years ago and I have not regreted it since. I constantly pick it up for the sensuality and the power that resonates in the pictures.

That being said I am not that thrilled about "Women". The photography is nice, it is the poses I have a problem with. I don't have a problem with looking at (atheltic)nude women. In fact I derive a lot of inspiration from them. But these are usually the sort of women who have a sort of "regal" and "dignified" look to them. In short the model has to give off an aura that she is there for herself and not simply to titilate men. Which unfortunetly is what "Women" does.

The photos for "Women" primarily consist of left over shots he did for Playboy and Max. So in short the photography basically fits into the realm of titilation.

So while you may want to purchase this book for Andreas formidable photography. Keep in mind the subject mater.

beauty 5 July 2001
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com

it was the cover photo that drew me to this book when i first saw it. the photo is sensual without being philistine, erotic without being raunchy. the rest of the book follows suite. bitesnich's startling, languid exploration of the female form makes this book a must have for all those who love beauty.

The Finest of Fine Art Nudes 19 Aug 2002
By Mike Walker - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have been a Fine Art Photographer for 35 years photographing mainly nudes. I am VERY opinionated in this arena. Most books of fashion models posing nude are little more than curiosities. People like to see famous/beautiful people nude in exotic locations and yes there is that here in "Woman". And while it may not fulfill the pretentious title, the photography is exceptional through out! I have not seen a book of this quality in years. Anyone interested in this area of Fine Art Photography has to purchase this book.
