Having won the league the previous two seasons, Wolves had lost out to Burnley in the 1959/60 season. However, they still had an FA Cup Final to contest against Blackburn Rovers, who had finished the season in 17th. Wolves were the favourites and they eventually strolled to a comfortable 3-0 victory. View the entire 90 minutes of this match as well as exclusive interviews with the players involved.

IF THIS WAS THE DUSTBIN FINAL, THE 1950S FINALS MUST HAVE BEEN AMAZING! I LOVED THE SKILLS OF PETER BROADBENT, A PLAYER LOVED BY THE YOUNG GEORGE BEST.BUT THE PLAYERS I ENJOYED WERE ALL PLAYING FOR BLACKBURN!...BRYAN DOUGLAS,RONNIE CLAYTON,NOT TO MENTION FUTURE KING OF THE TARTAN ARMY...ALLY NODDY McLEOD,WHAT ABOUT 70S MIDLAND SUPER HERO'S DEREK DOUGAN WITH SOCKS ROLLED DOWN AND PETER DOBING.NOT FORGETTING WIGAN CHAIRMAN AND CUP WINNER 2013 DAVE WHELAN BREAKING HIS LEG.(WITH PHOTOGRAPHERS RUNNING ON THE PITCH, FOR THESE WERE THE DAYS SENZA LONG LENSES! THE CROWD SINGING FA DA LEE FA DA LA HAHAHA FROM THE SOUND OF MUSIC, AND ROVERS FANS SINGING PUT EM IN THE BIN NEAR THE END. THE CROWD LEAVE IN DROVES LONG BEFORE THE END. IT WAS A HOT DAY, AND ITS GREAT TO SEE THE FACES OF THE CROWD ,AND HERE THE ODD COMMENT OR 2.WHEN I THINK OF A SHOCKING FINAL (I ALWAYS THINK OF 1996!) TWO ARROGANT TEAMS SHOCKING SUITS ALMOST GIVING HIGH FIVES AT THE LINE UP HORRID MATCH SAVED BY ERIC THE KING! GIVE ME 1950S-60S ANYDAY OVER THAT. BUY FROM AMAZON UK.

Gave this to my Dad for his birthday, it brought back great memories of the glory days. A must for all fans who are too young to remember the dizzy heights this great Wolves team made legendary.

Great match, horrific anti wolves commentary from an absolute cholmondley-warner buffoon. It sort of ruined the 2nd half. Next time i watch the sound will be muted where possible.

poor quality monochrome reception. Could there have been a better digital retake ? I was 7 years old at the time and 1961 onwards are the only f a cups I remember seeing. Being a wolves fan I had to take a trip down memory lane.

the poor football and the unsporting attitude of the blackburn fans resulted in this poor match being dubbed the dustbin final by the press of the day.it hasnt improved with age both teams were in div 2 within 6 years .
