Wolfwatching, as with most of his poetry, is a fascinating collection of poems. It starts off quite innocently with poems like 'A Sparrow Hawk' and 'Slump Sundays'. But as you read on you find yourself in this amazing forest of stories, trying to keep up with his imagination.
-the only poem I like less is 'The Black Rhino'. It reads as though it was written on demand. Often his 'on demand' writing, does not reach his usual level of excellence.
Having said that, I can truly recommend this fascinating book to you, which you simply have to read more than once, (but who will mind) as it is rich and powerful. Your emotions have a true rollercoaster experience with wolfwatching - a definite must have, for you or as a magnificent gift for any poetry lover.
