Book Description

"Medieval romance at its best!"

Sir Renaud de Pierrepont, the Norman knight known as the Red Wolf for the beast he slayed with his bare hands, hoped to gain lands with his sword. A year after the Conquest, King William rewards his favored knight with Talisand, the lands of an English thegn slain at Hastings, and orders him to wed Lady Serena, the heiress that goes with them.

Serena wants nothing to do with the fierce warrior to whom she has been unwillingly given, the knight who may have killed her father. When she learns the Red Wolf is coming to claim her, she dyes her flaxen hair brown and flees, disguised as a servant, determined to one day regain her lands. But her escape goes awry and she is brought back to live among her people, though not unnoticed by the new Norman lord.

Deprived of his promised bride, the Red Wolf turns his attention to the comely servant girl hoping to woo her to his bed. But the wench resists, claiming she hates all Normans.

As the passion between them rises, Serena wonders, can she deny the Norman her body? Or her heart?

“Ms. Walker has the rare ability to make you forget you are reading a book…the characters become real, the modern world fades away and all that is left is the intrigue, drama and romance.” Straight from the Library

“An engrossing love story grounded in meticulous research. Regan Walker makes the transition from Regency London to Anglo Norman England with consummate ease.” Glynn Holloway, author of 1066 What Fates Impose

About the Author

As a child Regan Walker loved to write stories, particularly about adventure-loving girls, but by the time she got to college more serious pursuits took priority. One of her professors encouraged her to pursue the profession of law, which she did. Years of serving clients in private practice and several stints in high levels of government gave her a love of international travel and a feel for the demands of the “Crown” on its subjects. Hence her romance novels often involve a demanding sovereign who calls upon his subjects for special assignments. Regan lives in San Diego with her golden retriever, Link, whom she says inspires her every day to relax and smell the roses.

More About the Author

Hello to all my Amazon UK readers!

I live in San Diego, California and love writing historical romance. I began with Regency romances but now I am also writing in different historical settings. My prior work as a lawyer serving at high levels of government gave me a sense for the demands of "the Crown." Hence, the Agents of the Crown trilogy naturally came into being as three hunky heroes take on some difficult tasks for the Prince Regent and fall in love with some worthy heroines. In THE RED WOLF'S PRIZE, to be released October 1, 2014, a very worthy Norman knight will tussle with a rebellious English maiden.

Each of my novels, and even my novella and short stories, feature real history and real historical figures along with the fictional characters.

"Ms. Walker has the rare ability to make you forget you are reading a book...the characters become real, the modern world fades away and all that is left is the intrigue, drama and romance." Straight from the Library

For Christmas, celebrate the traditions of the season in Regency England with THE TWELFTH NIGHT WAGER and then continue the tale and fall in love with a Highlander in THE HOLLY & THE THISTLE.

I hope you like them all!

I love to hear from readers. You can email me via my website:, and connect with me on Facebook at

5.0 out of 5 stars A Rollicking Medieval Romance! 1 Oct. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
A fantastic read, full of passion, deceit and adventure! Regan Walker has once again excelled herself with yet another memorable historical romance, this time set in the medieval period. Following his invasion of England William stamps his authority on his new vassals by confiscating lands from English thegns, gifting them to his loyal knights and constructing castles to intimidate and control.

Sir Renaud de Peirrepont is gifted the demesne of Talisand and its lady Serena as his bride. I loved this knight, known as the Red Wolf. He has a fearsome reputation on the battlefield but a strong desire for peace and to put down roots in this new land. However, Serena despises the Normans who are busy subjugating her people. Indeed, her own father fell at Hastings and her brother has fled. She is a brave and resourceful woman and I loved how she disguises herself as a servant in an attempt to escape her fate, and even when she is captured and returns to Talisand manages to keep her real identity a secret. Renaud is drawn to her and there are many scenes where he tries to woo her to his bed, a privilege that others would jump at, but she denies him. Such scenes are filled with sexual tension as Serena is equally attracted to Renaud. In fact the more she finds out about this man the more she grows to respect him and it becomes harder to resist.

Renaud is furious that his bride has escaped him and is also one frustrated man, his own personal code preventing him from taking his servant by force. She enchants, challenges and perplexes him at the same time. With a castle to build, William requesting his services in battle, a missing bride and a woman who will not submit to his charms, Renaud has his work cut out and I did sympathise with him.

4.0 out of 5 stars Captivating!! 9 Nov. 2014
By Lesia
Format:Kindle Edition
Regan Walker has brought history alive with this romantic tale. She has given me a little of England's history, while telling a romantic story with amazingly strong characters, fierce battles, and much more. Renaud the Red Wolf, our Knight in shining armour, you know the one, he's in all our dreams. He's tall, dark, very handsome, with battle scars, he's sexy and best of all he is as fierce at loving as he is at fighting! Serena, his heroine is he equal in all ways. She is a most fierce defender when it comes to her family and the people of Talisand. Serena will lead him a merry chase before this tale is done, and she will reveal some of her many talents, and of course there will be a battle of wills between the two. This story will keep you a captive reader and the amazing history just touched upon in the book has me intrigued, especially the many castles being erected, but don't worry, she doesn't overwhelm you with too much detail. The many secondary characters have interesting stories of their own to tell, and I can't wait to get to know them better in their own books. I hope you'll read The Red Wolf's Prize and enjoy it as much as I have.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fabulous medieval romance. 13 Nov. 2014
By Marsha
Regan Walker brings us a love story set during the Norman Conquest of England. Serena of Talisand, located in northern England, has been commanded to marry one of King William the Conqueror's men, Renaud de Pierrepont known as the Red Wolf. With strong secondary characters to support the main characters of Serena and Renaud and a tale that puts one back in the Conquest era, The Red Wolf's Prize is a wonderful read.

One feels Serena's conflicting emotions as she tries to come to terms with the upheaval the Norman invasion has caused to her life and the lives of her loved ones. Serena will also have to deal with her conflicted feelings for the Red Wolf and his followers. Regan Walker deals with all this conflict beautifully and we come to understand the reasons behind Serena's decisions.

The Conquest era is one of my favorite time periods to read about. I feel that Regan Walker really grasped the flavor of the time and mores and attitudes of the Conquest period. I am really looking forward to the continuation of the various characters stories being told.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book and Would Make a Great Movie 11 Nov. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Great Book and Would Make a Great Movie!
Why does love always seem better in settings long ago? I LOVE history and romance together, and this book pairs them together seamlessly. I could not put it down! I have read all of Regan Walker’s books, loved them and now she is moving from Regency to Medieval. As usual we get just enough background and rich description to paint a vivid picture, but she never bores us with endless dates and mind-numbing details. The characters are so memorable. Serena, the main character, has spunk and an independent spirit, but she never forgets her duty to her people which made me love her. She is true royalty. Renaud (Red Wolf) is strong and sexy and not to be put-off which make them perfect sparing partners. Together the sparks fly.If you know this author’s work, you will love The Red Wolf’s Prize. If you haven’t tried her books, it’s about time!

5.0 out of 5 stars A-M-A-Z-I-N-G medieval story! 11 Nov. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I loved every page of this story...couldn't put it down once started. Ms. Walker's writing just keeps getting better and better. In this story she has a formidable conquering Norman knight (Renaud aka The Red Wolf) taking ownership of the lands and manors of an English lady (Serena)...and the English lady to a reward from King William. And then the sparks begin to fly! The hijinks of Lady Serena as she fights her attraction for Renaud...and Renaud's frustration as he falls in love with her while doing business for the King...make for a very lively medieval romance. There are bad guys and action aplenty that kept this reader riveted to the pages until the end. The Epilogue and Author's Note included at the end of the story were a wonderful treat to read as well.
