Book Description

Wolves and humans aren't an easy mix. But what if she weren't a human?

"Are you trying to intimidate me, Mr Green?" she asked calmly, refusing to lean back.

"Call me Rafe." But she just stared at him quietly, her arched brow challenging him to answer her question. It agitated his wolf, but he was so aroused he could barely breathe. He had never met a woman like her. "Yes, I am," he answered, his every word deliberate. He pressed his hands on the armrests of her chair and leaned closer to her face, never breaking the eye contact. "Is it working?" Closing in the short distance, he kissed her.

Having been raised by humans-first parents, Charlotte Thornton is completely unprepared for a man like Raphael Green, a wolf-shifter. After a lifetime of controlling herself, the onslaught of emotions he causes in her, both lust and aggravation, seem like too much to handle. Unlike human men around her, Rafe is not weak. But neither is she, and Rafe is about to learn it. She finds herself drawn to him unlike any man before, only to learn that he won't date humans. But what if she weren't a human?

Rafe never thought he would pursue a human, let alone a woman as dominant as Charly, but his wolf side has other ideas. For a shifter, ignoring their beast's choice is practically impossible, but he will try; his brother's marriage is enough of a warning. But as he is drawn to her with a maddening lust, it becomes difficult to prevent his wolf from putting out its call for her. Then her life is threatened and everything changes.

From the high-end neighbourhood of London to peaceful countryside, their enemies hunt them. Time for making up their minds is running out.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very interesting premise. 28 Oct. 2012

Interesting world development. Just enough variance to make it stand out from the pack. Pun intended! 3 stars because it did need a little polish. Look forward to a sequel in this world of hers.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wolf's Call 29 Dec. 2013

Is it a UK thing to refer to their pets as "it" constantly? An example from this story: "They exited the car and released Bob, letting it run free, and it took a full advantage of the opportunity..." the writing didn't always seem to flow to me. Instead if referring to the male dog as a him the constant impersonal nature of the writing in several instances threw me off. It put a barrier to getting to know the characters and their personalities at times. Overall I did enjoy the story, but was less involved because of the wording choices the author kept making.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rafe 12 Oct. 2013

Holy Batman Rafe is such a damn tease, "stifling a satisfied smile, he shifted in his chair as if seeking a better position to sit in, offering her a better view. He didn't mind her looking at his chest." He's also bossy, but he does bossy so sexy, "don't ever go into a dark park alone again," he said sternly, remembering his earlier aggravation. "Do you hear me, woman?" I mean really sexy bossy, "woman, when I tell you to run to safety, you bloody well run to safety." He can be an a** at times as well, "he sneered. "If you want to get into my bed, you're welcome, baby. But we both know it's only my body you want. You don't have to pretend to be interested in me simply so you can shock your parents." He's well endowed and has much stamina, "when she began to fumble them open, he let her, groaning in pleasure when his erection sprang free. She made a small, delighted sound, and wrapped her fingers around him tightly, making his brain short-circuit. "Baby, if you want me to finish this properly, you'll have to let go."

1.0 out of 5 stars Hard to stay and finish the book 28 Sept. 2012
By PJ Holz - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
First off let me tell you the type on my kindle with this book was really hard to read . That being said the story itself was ok, I never really felt anything for the main parties, you never feel the emotion there is no love just what the wolf wants. I really think the author missed the mark on this one. Perhaps other books by this author are better and this one if just off. For the price you can't ask for more, however, I really had to make myself finish the book.
