Made in Holland and well-known amongst violinist, the Wolf Secundo shoulder rest has flexible sponge rubber padding on a curved bow and features screw-on swivel legs. Its height and width are fully adjustable and its feet are covered with rubber to protect the instrument.
This is perhaps a personal thing rather than a design fault, but I found this to be quite an unusual shape of shoulder rest. I didn't find it very comfortable, I think it is more suited for people with smaller shoulders (probably best for children). it also falls off my violin whenever I lift it off my shoulder/neck which is very annoying!
I am very happy with this violin shoulder rest, and it came at a good price compared with other outlets. It was delivered very quickly and in perfect condition. It fits my violin well, and is height-adjustable which is very handy. All in all a great purchase!
This may be a personal thing, as I am very tall and require a shoulder rest that can provide more height than most people.
However, the hinges that allow for easy folding away would collapse during playing so any slight movement of my arm/shoulder really impacted on the stability of the instrument. Also, the plastic feet that attach to the violin lacked purchase and tended to slip. I've paid much less for my old shoulder rest and found that much better.
