Discovered the Wolves, Shaun and the book all at the same time whilst on holiday in Devon. The book is incredible. The insight into the behaviour and communication of this most beautiful of animals is superb. The book will act as a wake up call for anyone who has an interest in canids. Buy the book and read it. I could not put it down. Since reading the book, i have been back to the wolves on numerous occasions and am now actively seeking ways in which to help protect this animal. A must read.

I waited ages for this book to come out as I had met the author at Crufts and seen him on TV quite a bit. Shaun Ellis is an amazing man with an amazing story to tell. When I got the book one saturday morning I sat down to read it and the next thing I know I had finished the book and it was quite late on in the evening. I found this book to draw you in, as you read it you feel as if you are following the author around in the background watching everything that happens rather than just reading it. The book made me laugh and it also made me cry, I have never experienced this much emotion from a book it was truely incredible. When I finished the book I felt that the wolves in it were part of my family. I can not wait until this author bring out his next book because this one has got to be a bestseller

Back in March I went to Crufts and met this man who was promoting his book on wolves. I went and spoke to him as I have had a love of animals (especially wolves) since childhood and left about 1 hour later thinking "this man is amazing, I must read this book"Well I managed to get a copy of it last Saturday (10th May 2003). As soon as I got home I began to read it the next thing I know it was night time. The book was so inspiring it makes you laugh out loud it also makes you cry, I have never before in my life read a book that I found impossible to put down until finished, but I have now. I was left feeling that I had known this man for years, maybe stood in the background following his life and I felt that the wolves in this book were also my family, being left with a feeling of emptyness when Daisy died. If you have a love for animals or even if you are curious about wolves or even the man that was nicknamed "the Wolf Man" this book is a must All I can say is I can not wait for another book by this truely amazing man and his "family"
