Book Description

The shadow of evil has spread over Wizards’ Kingdom, and at the centre of the web is the power-crazed warlock, Evilan …

Can the three benevolent wizards – Zendal, Crasmont and young Mydar – pool all their sorcerers’ energy together and rescue Lord Torsk, imprisoned by Evilan in Spellock Castle? And is Torsk all that he pretends to be?

Maybe Loof the Catchet can help them... or the weird Rock People of the Shallow Water... or Crockledam the troll. Certainly, Shim, Zendal’s jet-black stallion, is a tower of strength – until a vicious Cliffkreeper strikes him down!

When the despondent trio are joined by the ancient Wizard King Veltzeg, a master of shapeshift, he lifts their spirits and skill levels, and a humdinger of a fight ensues at Spellock Castle – a real battle of wits, wills and wizardry. And may the best magician win!

The Wizards’ Kingdom is a trilogy of illustrated fantasy adventure stories for readers aged 8 to 80.

Colin R Parsons' "Wizards' Kingdom" is absolutely brilliant. I love all the magical creatures, especially the really evil ones, who are very cool! This is the first book in the trilogy and once I had read it, I couldn't wait to read the other ones.

The wizards' kingdom has been taken over by an evil wizard, and it is up to the other wizards to defeat him and his army of evil dominions in over to prevent him from destroying them and their kingdom completely. This quest leads them to sorcerers' point and to a surprising discovery about a horse!

This magical story takes you into a wonderful fantasy realm, with beautiful landscapes and amazing creatures. Each chapter is full of action and makes you want to read the next.

If you like fantasy, this book is for you!

This is a review from a reader called 'Fantasy Fan.'

'The first edition of Colin R Parson's `Curious World' series is one of the best fantasy books I've read in a long while. It has all of the breath taking suspense of The Lord of the Rings trilogy but mixes in the page-turning fun of newer novels like the Power of Five series by Anthony Horowitz. Believe me, if you like Harry Potter or The Spiderwick Chronicles the then this is definitely the adventure for you. It's fast, funny and leaves you wanting more. You will not be disappointed, whatever age you are.'

5.0 out of 5 stars born again reader 21 Feb. 2012
Format:Paperback
i was not sure about these books, but having read the first book and now starting to read the second book of the trillogy i can't put it down. the chapters are nice and short and if i get interrupted, i know i can quickly get to the end of the chapter. the characters are wonderful and some how fit perfectly into the storey. the illistrations are good and help you see in your own mind what they are and look like. the storey in not boreing and mundane, there is always something going on and it drags you into the book and its characters come to life. there are twists and turns and just makes me come back for more, hence i have bought all 3 books. i am delighted to say that it is these books that have got me back to my favorite hobby of reading again and i must thank you for making me realise what i have been missing.

5.0 out of 5 stars The New Lord of the Rings? 19 July 2011
Format:Paperback
I recently bought this book as a bedtime story to read to my 6 year old brother. He loved it from the word go and I have to say that I did too. It has a range of likable hero characters set in a mythical world that I would relate to J. R. R. Tolkein's 'Middle Earth', but more colourful and easily approachable for children. I found it enjoyable and funny at times; even finding myself reading on in the book after my younger brother fell asleep. Despite being sceptical of thinner novels I found this a great edition to a series that I plan to read further. I can't wait to get the second and third books in the trilogy.

Great book for young and old alike. It's well written with a good host of characters.
It's full of twists and turns with an unexpected twist toward the end. Books 2 and 3 in this trilogy are just as thrilling. Nicely done Mr Parsons
