Product Description

The complete third season of the award-winning drama series. The sole responsibility of the FBI special task force is to find missing persons by applying advanced psychological profiling techniques to peel back the layers of the victims' lives and trace their whereabouts in an effort to discover whether they have been abducted, been murdered, committed suicide or simply run away. For authoritative agent Jack Malone (Anthony LaPaglia) and his driven colleagues, finding the missing depends as much on figuring out who they are as it does on determining where they are. Episodes comprise: 'In the Dark', 'Thou Shalt Not', 'Light Years', 'Upstairs Downstairs', 'American Goddess', 'Nickel and Dimed (Part 1)', 'Nickel and Dimed (Part 2)', 'Doppelgänger II', 'Trials', 'Malone v. Malone', '4.0', 'Penitence', 'Volcano', 'Neither Rain Nor Sleet', 'Party Girl', 'Manhunt', 'Lone Star', 'Transitions', 'Second Sight', 'The Bogie Man', 'Off the Tracks', 'John Michaels' and 'Endgame'.

Synopsis

Every 30 seconds in America, normal life stops. Someone is reported missing. That’s where special agent Jack Malone (Anthony LaPaglia) comes in. On behalf of victims and loved ones, Jack and his FBI team do the hard, exciting work of turning the missing into the found. All the series’ stars return for 23 compelling episodes of this Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning TV drama. Among the vanished: a man terrified of extraterrestrials, a spoiled celebrity heiress and an idealistic woman caught up in a romance with a terrorism suspect. Even the agents’ private lives are in turmoil, from Malone’s contentious divorce, an inter-office romance, to another agent’s brush with death. Danger, suspense, emotional power – all found in thrilling Season 3!

For as good a series as this is, it is ruined by poorly manufactured two-sided discs that freeze-up, thus spoiling the viewing experience.....two sided discs were the bane of the HD format, as well.

Out of seasons 1, 2 and 3, 2 is probably the best. 3 has some good episodes, but the overarching narratives peter out about halfway through the season. Episode 22 is particularly excreble.

If you liked seasons 1 and 2 then you'll love the first half of this, but the quality does dip a bit after that.

I love this series. Season 3 continues to contain lots of great stories although the second to last episode was a little odd! Other than that it keeps up with the previous series and ends on a cliff hanger. Worth buying for sure.

Practically every episode of this show is perfectly written, immaculately acted and well directed. Would recommend to ANYONE, especially fans of CSI: New York, as they are both produced by the same people. I liked the fact that we got to see more of the characters' personalities shine through in this series, whilst the show kept the momentum of the storylines.

Looking forward to watching series 4

I can only imagine myself watching this on TV (one episode per week), as I never did, but I admit that some of the episodes might look kind of weird, taken individually (with John Michaels as especially confusing). On the other hand, if you try watching it say three or four episodes a day, you'd get a whole picture, and then it is perfect. Personal life moments blend nicely into the cases, and you can really enjoy them all.
There are series that grab you by the storylines. There are others, that grab you by the characters (actors?). There you can easily get addicted by both.
One little problem. I do hate dual-layered DVD discs, but that's a minor complaint.
And then: is there any reliable way to encourage the studio to release season 4 (5, ......)??
