Contrary to European perceptions, such American spaces have not emerged from a tabula rasa, but from free adaptations of European models of urban design, at the level of territory and typology. Author Mark Pimlott is an internationally recognized architect who teaches as Delft University of Technology and has designed many acclaimed public projects in Great Britain and Europe.
