Their recovery window is small - and every case is a race against time. Agent Jack Malone and the members of the FBI's Missing Persons Unit use advanced profiling techniques to peel back the layers of a person's life. No lies, deceptions, or evasions can withstand their withering scrutiny. Because they know that only by revealing every fact of a missing person's life, can they track where that victim may be. You find out who they are, and you'll find out where they are. But you don't have time to get it wrong. Because after 48 hours, most victims are gone forever.

"Without a Trace" is a very well-written missing persons FBI drama that is consistently engaging and entertaining. This season has fewer episodes than other seasons due to the US writers' strike, but that did not affect the quality of the show.

The DVD set is presented on three discs: two DVD-18 flippers and one single-sided DVD-5, which is sufficient for the 18 episodes. Picture quality is excellent, audio is adequate, subtitles are accurate.

The major problem with this set is that other than the fact that there are no special features whatsoever, it's missing the CSI crossover episode (Episode 8x06, "Who and What?") that concludes on Episode 6x06 of Without a Trace ("Where and Why"), so you only have the second half of a two hour story. It doesn't even have scene highlights from that CSI episode, so you really enter in the middle of the show without any idea what's going on. Very disappointing, considering the CSI Season 8 DVD boxed set included the Without a Trace episode for those who only collect that show.

Despite that, this is still a solid season. I hope Warner releases the final season of the show on DVD soon, so we can complete our collections.

Every single character in every episode is convincingly written and acted. The stories are believable, it is a true 'drama' series with none of the humour of my other favourites (The Closer, Bones, NCIS) but it is far nearer to reality. If you can believe in purple men descending from Mars this is probably not an aspect that is important to you but I'm one of those people who likes to believe that what I see really could happen - and I am totally convinced by this series.

There has been information about the characters, genre etc. in reviews of earlier series so I don't see any point in going into details here - If you haven't seen any of the previous series I suggest you start with Series 1 and work your way through. The main thread is the same, FBI agents looking for missing people, but each episode is different from all the others, I just don't know how the writers can take the same basic concept and present it in so many different ways.

Some episodes are better than others but all are worth watching. This was a short series, 18 episodes instead of the usual 22/23 and I was SO disappointed when I put the final disc in and discovered there were only two episodes on it.

I am a total fan and very, very sad that series 7 was the final series.

Less episodes in this one, but excellent ones.
This has a story running through the series which stetches the team to near breaking point.

Really enjoyed....can't wait for the last series.

More mysterious disappearances are solved by the team and we get to know a little more about the team members private lives. A must for all 'Without A trace' fans.
If you are a newcomer to the series I'd advise starting with series one and working your way through. If you enjoy this kind of mystery tale you will love the whole series.

The series is getting better and better and I definitely recommend this series. Gives you a mystery to solve as well as building up the background on the characters.

Presumably you are a fan if you are reading about series 6. This series will please you a lot. The Spanish actress seems to have had intensive coaching in stress and intonation and delivers her lines with much more conviction. Jack is getting wilder, but it's all quite convincing. What more do you need? Buy it.
