Just got these scales a couple of days ago and am very impressed so far. When I bought them there was no mention anywhere that the setup software was Linux compatible but I thought I'd give it a go anyway. Upon going to the download page of the Withings website, my Linux operating system was detected and the appropriate setup software was offered for download.
I was pleasantly surprised that the Linux support for this device worked so well as a lot of manufacturers ignore this platform. I thought I should mention it in my review as I couldn't find a definitive answer as to whether it would work or not before I took the plunge and bought the scales.
As for the device itself, it is very well made and works extremely well. The web application that tracks your weight is very slick and easy to use.
As other reviewers have said, the scales are quite expensive, but unless I somehow manage to break them I don't think I'll ever need to buy another set of scales again.

I've owned these scales for about 5 months now and I really wouldn't want to be without them. They look great, function well, were easy to set up (even on a Mac!) and the batteries last a shockingly long time. Yes they are expensive, but given the functionality they provide and the amount of use they have and will continue to get I think it is reasonable.
I've been on a weight loss programme since the week before I purchased these and they have been an invaluable tool for keeping me on track. I have lost just over 5 stones in 5 months, and whilst I do not credit the scales with any of that loss I do owe a great deal to the daily motivation boost provided by these scales. I weigh daily (which I don't think is recommended) and the scales are synced with my Withings account online (all wirelessly) but better still they update 2 cracking iPhone applications which I predominantly use to monitor my progress (Withings app and an app called 'Weightbot' that provides slightly different features and a great progress and predicted target pane).
The measurements are pretty accurate for weight (I get weighed weekly, independently of these scales, and they are always pretty spot on). As others have said the Fat measurement isn't quite so accurate, but as a guide the measurements are adequate. The average fat mass trend over a decent time period gives me confidence that my diet is good and that my weight losses are attributed to fat loss and not due to lean tissue wastage - which is an important monitoring tool.

I'm a very heavy guy who has tried (occasionally successfully) to lose a lot of weight in the past, and I picked up these scales partly because my last scales didn't go high enough, and partly because the whole wi-fi thing sounded cool.
What I didn't expect was that they would prove so valuable. The fact they work on carpet (with the supplied disc feet) means I can put them right where I can't miss them in the mornings, and the progress graph with the weighted average curve means I can track what's really going on and ignore the random fluctuations you get whether you weight yourself daily or weekly. It also means keeping a historical record is something I can scarcely avoid, rather than something I have to go well out of my way to do.
The days of scales without wireless connectivity are surely numbered.
