I've had two of these now for about 2 and 1 month, both have failed on me. One might be related to getting sweaty once, but find it hard to believe it was that. These items are not even rated as water resistant which seems daft for a sports tracking device.

I use My Fitness Pal to track my calories and also link it to other devices and apps all of which work fine, this doesn't work well at all and keeps feed back negative exercise so your better off not doing that. I've E-mailed support at Withings perhaps 6 or 7 times about this an other issues, and not once have I had a single response from them. My Fitness Pal incidentally reply within a few hours with a full and as helpful response as they can.

The app is clunky and awkward to work out but is good at keeping a diary, although the 'motivation' is often a bit abrupt.

The device quite often falls out of the belt clip holder and has fallen out of the wrist strap, fortunately I caught it both times.

Also, the wrist strap has an old mix of flat rubber and metal so it's hard for your skin to breath underneath and very unlike me got a bad response to the strap and it took some weeks for the flaking skin/rash to go away.

Looking for another device, this isn't the one for me.

The Withings Pulse O2 joins the growing number of activity trackers available but has an additional trick up it's sleeve: it can measure the saturation of oxygen in your blood via a built in oximeter.

Provided to me for review I was impressed with what a nice, light, little unit it is and that it manages to pack a lot in to the small space:
- Front: touch screen which is used to display stats, swype between different days stats, and set the unit to sleep mode or heart rate monitor mode
- Back: Heart rate/oximeter sensor
- Top: a single button which turns the unit on/off, activates the screen and starts the syncronisation process with your mobile/tablet
- Bottom: micro USB charging point (for use with the sort of USB cable you use with a mobile)

Along with the Pulse O2 you also get a wrist strap and a holder clip (for use on a belt loop/pocket etc). The Pulse O2 clips into both easily, although in doing so you cut off access to the sensor on the rear, meaning it has to be unclipped before it can be used.

Setup was very easy and was carried out on an Android mobile. You'll need to instal the excellent Withings app, which I already had having bought a pair of Withings scales a few years ago. Follow the on screen instructions to link the Pulse O2 to your account and you're ready to get going. Note you can't use a Windows/Mac computer to perform the setup, it must be done via the Android/iOS app.

The Pulse O2 is very light, so light I forgot I even had it on until someone asked what it was (I have the blue clip which stands out if you happen to have a black suit on!). The display is very clear most of the time, it was only when stood in direct sunlight that the screen became hard to see.

This product WAS fantastic. I say WAS because it fell out of its clasp never to be seen again. I had read reviews of this occurring and thought it wouldn't happen to me as I would be uber aware and cautious. It happened to me part way up a Welsh mountain side. I had it within 5 mins of leaving the summit to check the time only to look about 20mins later and it was gone. So annoyed. How they can develope a product that can fall out of its clasp I do not understand. The app has had a few updates and the data is rich and interesting. Personally I wouldn't get another one because of this massive design fault.

I have had my unit changed 3 times since purchase. The last one I thought was OK until the heart measure vanished from mobile app although still visible on the on-line portal. After 6 communications with customer service and going around the houses following instructions to the letter there seems to be no answer. The latest communication said they could not help but were trying to run the problem by a more senior representative. That was 3 days agog and I am still waiting.
I have to say when Pulse is working it is a very good device but far too many problems and no solutions. Final decision is to dump it and purchase a competitor unit.

Well designed, and extremely useful for keeping track of sleep and activity. I liked everything abut it, except after three weeks the screen stopped responded to touch and, after a brief conversation with customer services, the item was replaced.

After two weeks the replacement arrived from France, but after less than a fortnight this one died entirely.

Another chat with customer service and I was advised that it would need to sent back to France for testing

I've already mailed the first one off at a hefty cost to myself in international shiping, and now I need to send the second one back as well. This is putting me seriously out of pocket for a gadget that is already at the pricier end of the market.

And that's before you add up that for the two months I've technically owned this device I've actually been only able to use it for half that.

At this point I am debating whether to cut my losses entirely and just buy a different tracker, which would be a shame as I like the integration with the Withings scales (which work great) and I don't really want to leave their 'ecosystem'.

But if I'm going to be replacing this thing every month and paying £7 for the pleasure (not counting the hour each time with customer servces) i'm going to end up paying for it twice over in a year.

Despite the fact the product is good while it works, I would advise avoiding it. It just simply is not made well enough.
