I've had two of these now for about 2 and 1 month, both have failed on me. One might be related to getting sweaty once, but find it hard to believe it was that. These items are not even rated as water resistant which seems daft for a sports tracking device.

I use My Fitness Pal to track my calories and also link it to other devices and apps all of which work fine, this doesn't work well at all and keeps feed back negative exercise so your better off not doing that. I've E-mailed support at Withings perhaps 6 or 7 times about this an other issues, and not once have I had a single response from them. My Fitness Pal incidentally reply within a few hours with a full and as helpful response as they can.

The app is clunky and awkward to work out but is good at keeping a diary, although the 'motivation' is often a bit abrupt.

The device quite often falls out of the belt clip holder and has fallen out of the wrist strap, fortunately I caught it both times.

Also, the wrist strap has an old mix of flat rubber and metal so it's hard for your skin to breath underneath and very unlike me got a bad response to the strap and it took some weeks for the flaking skin/rash to go away.

Looking for another device, this isn't the one for me.

I purchased the Withings Pulse O2 on 17th September 2014. I am a relatively active person and particularly liked the fact that the unit differentiated between running and walking, providing useful feedback. was initially impressed by the capabilities and the fact that the device links to the wireless body scales I had also purchased. Unfortunately within 5 days the monitor ceased to work. . Despite charging the monitor was completely dead. I contacted Withings to request a replacement for the faulty unit. It was at this point that I learned that the monitor is completely useless to somebody who is or wants to be active! Customer services in Withings stated the following: *The product includes a sensor that indicates that the pulse has been or not in contact with a liquid, it could be water or maybe sweat.
- If the product passes the humidity inspection we will provide a coupon to order a new Pulse.
- If the moisture from your Pulse sensor is positive, it will not qualify for a full replacement*

So - if you are likely to sweat being active - this is not the monitor for you. Go for something that will actually promote a truly active lifestyle. If you never sweat and only plan to walk - crack on!

I purchased this item from amazon about a month ago, and for the first few days it was great, the device works great, acts as a wristwatch, measures oxygen levels. great. About a week ago, I then purchased a new android phone (GS5). I factory reset my old phone, (Galaxy s4) and sold it, and then tried to setup the Withings pulse with the new phone, and bean to encounter issues. It was not able to connect via Bluetooth. I contacted Withings support and sent screens, followed there instructions for resetting the device, and the problems still persists. Currently I have a device that only turns on and asks to setup, I have tried connecting to other friends mobile and it show same error messages on all phones. I've asked the Withings support for any further instructions or help or even a replacement and have been met with a wall of silence over the last 2 weeks.

Amazon will not accept returns after 14 days and the manufacturer is not responding. Pretty terrible support if you ask me, especially for a £100 device.

I have had my unit changed 3 times since purchase. The last one I thought was OK until the heart measure vanished from mobile app although still visible on the on-line portal. After 6 communications with customer service and going around the houses following instructions to the letter there seems to be no answer. The latest communication said they could not help but were trying to run the problem by a more senior representative. That was 3 days agog and I am still waiting.
I have to say when Pulse is working it is a very good device but far too many problems and no solutions. Final decision is to dump it and purchase a competitor unit.

This product WAS fantastic. I say WAS because it fell out of its clasp never to be seen again. I had read reviews of this occurring and thought it wouldn't happen to me as I would be uber aware and cautious. It happened to me part way up a Welsh mountain side. I had it within 5 mins of leaving the summit to check the time only to look about 20mins later and it was gone. So annoyed. How they can develope a product that can fall out of its clasp I do not understand. The app has had a few updates and the data is rich and interesting. Personally I wouldn't get another one because of this massive design fault.

After using the device for a few days, it’s a bit of a disappointment.

The steps/distance function only seems to work if you are walking at a brisk pace. The recording accuracy is suspect as the distance for a known walks was in error by at least 20%. The recording of my lunch time runs was no better. The time function seems to assume you will be running all the time, and that you do not to have to cross busy roads where you may have to pause for traffic or crossing lights to change. Again the distance measured was out by 30% (over estimation).

Battery life is claimed to be 2 weeks “for average use”, at best mine lasted 5 days on one charge.

It has an exposed USB charging port that is not weather protected, so means you need to keep the device dry … a bit difficult to do in the British climate where you do expect to get wet.

Measurement of heart rate/ O2 level requires you to remove the device from the cradle and press your finger on the sensor. I found the results to be hit and miss – sometimes it worked and gave sensible results. I’m not convinced that the clasp on the wrist strap is robust enough to hold the device – frequent insertions and removals will probably means it will work lose in time.

With these faults I can’t take the data recorded by the device seriously and in my view the device is not fit for its intended purpose.
