Product Description

Book Description

Witherstone is the story of a girl trying to get her family back.

“Witherstone is a really outstanding read – good old-fashioned storytelling, in the very best sense; engaging and gripping as only the most skilfull writing can be.” Gordon Askew, reading advisor to Department for Education, UK.

In Witherstone, Hephzibah Creswell discovers that she and her family have a mysterious and deadly enemy. When the Plague sweeps through her village, 'Eppie' tries to save her sister’s life, but her actions unleash devastating consequences for her whole family.

A sinister and gripping tale of mysterious enemies with murderous intentions, Witherstone is set in the years following the English Civil Wars in a society riddled with social inequality, religious turmoil and fears of witchcraft. And where a girl is fighting to save her family.

The first in a trilogy, Witherstone is available in paperback, and for Kindle and iPad.

Witherstone is crossover fiction, enthralling younger and older readers alike.

The second book in the series, The Hunt Begins, is due out late Summer 2012.

Brilliant!! 3 Oct 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I absolutely loved Witherstone; very well written, with good depth of characters. The heroine is very likeable and realistic, and the plot is really mysterious and believable - resulting in a huge amount of anticipation.
It's genuinely 'unputdownable', and was still circling through my mind long after I'd finished. Don't be put off by the slow-ish beginning - it only builds up suspense before the multiple climaxes later in the book, and gives the characters more detail.
I'd definitely recommend it to anyone - it's a fantastic book, and well worth the buy :)

heart racing 21 Oct 2011

Format:Paperback
It took a while for me to get into this book but this was possibly down to me choosing the wrong time to start reading it, once I had got into it I could not put it down, there were moments in the book where my heart was racing with both nerves and excitement. An absolutely brilliant book and I really can't wait for the next instalment.

A Gripping Read 1 Oct 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a brilliant read which drew me in and kept me hooked from start to finish. The story is told through the eyes of Eppie as she struggles to save her family from an unknown enemy. The story is full of convincing historical detail and I found myself transported back to a seventeenth century England immersed in superstition, magic and dark political forces. I don't usually read books which include superstition and witchcraft but this is a story about real life struggle. The plot is gripping and the narrative carries the story with pace, creating a feeling of deep unease as Eppie uncovers the truth.....I can't wait for the next instalment.
