As a teenager (of some 15 years), I fell for this 20th Century-Fox musical hook, line and sinker. For me, Fox made some great musicals, even able to surpass MGM on occasion. I loved Susan Hayward in almost everything that she did, and this film did nothing to disillusion me. But, above all, it introduced me to the wonderful, seductively creamy Froman sound. And such a range of music from some of the greatest songwriters of the day. And Robert Wagner in one of his earlier roles. I could go on... Just get yourself a copy of this DVD, buy a chipped or region free player, sit back, and enjoy. It's a pity that the release year - 1952 - saw the release of the CinemaScope system; 'With a Song in my Heart' was just that little bit too early.
