Product Description

Book Description

Recounts the experiences of a Christian minister who accompanied ninety-five men to their death by lethal injection. With vivid accounts of many of these men the reader meets the contrite, the angry, the resigned and even some who might have been innocent and follows them to their death in the execution chamber. Told against the backdrop of his prison and domestic life the moral dilemmas and unique insight of the Rev Pickett results in an impassioned statement on the realities of capital punishment. --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

A very strong and moving narrative about the final moments of the condemned men and women, and the people who in one way or another are taking part in the execution process at Huntsville, Tx. Highly recommendable.

This is the kind of book that everyone should read, whatever their stance on or knowledge about the death penalty.
The book is essentially a biography of the former chaplain at the Walls unit in Texas. It doesn't deal with "day to day" life on death row, but gives a perspective on executions from the point of view of someone in the establishment. It's powerful and moving.

Book arrived in a couple of days, excellent service and delivery. The book is well worth buying to read about life on Death Row in US prisons. Very moving and thought provoking, an excellent read in all respects.
