More About the Author

Garry Douglas Kilworth was born in York in 1941. He began travelling the minute his feet hit the ground. As a service brat he was raised in various counties of England, in Aden, and in Singapore. He went to military school at the age of 15 and served in the RAF until 33, in Kenya, Aden, Maldives, Singapore, Hong Kong, Cyprus, Germany and Malta. On leaving the RAF he had his first short story published in the Sunday Times. Novels with Faber and Faber, and Penguin Books, followed shortly afterwards. After working for Cable and Wireless in the Caribbean for 8 years he turned full-time writer and to date has 125 short stories and 70 novels published. He has worked in several genres, including Science Fiction, Fantasy, General Fiction, Children's books, Historical Fiction and Military Crime novels. Garry is still married to Annette, the girl he met when she was 17 and he 19. They have two children, a boy and a girl, now in their forties, and five beloved grandchildren, Alexander being the boy in the photograph. Garry Kilworth's main influences have been: Rudyard Kipling, HG Wells, Julio Cortazar and a whole raft of modern authors, many of them now friends.
