It isn't particularly engaging. Rather than a supernatural fantasy it is mostly focused on very falsely acted relationship dramathons, it is essentially 95% Telenovela
Telenovelas are those cheesy spanish daytime soaps, where all the women have huge poofy hair, huge amounts of make up, have the largest amount of their boobs showing as physically possible, wear ridiculous heeled shoes all the time and there's repeated boohoo fake sob dramas about who kissed who's boyfriend, a bad case of amnesia, a secret being discussed and oooh the person you least wanted to hear it was hiding behind the bookcase and heard it all, a previously thought dead character showing up to stop the wedding at the last moment, the guy that was the soulmate last episode dies and the girl is into a new hunny the next episode...

The supernatural 5% has been written by someone with no imagination who seems to have picked random myths they have not properly researched from pagan, christian and norse mythology. There isn't much effort put into creating the rules of the supposed supernatural world they introduce and new and contradictory facts are repeatedly inserted to get them out of one plot hole from another.

There's minimal action, minimal drama (beyond the love affair shenanigans) minimal suspense... the bad guys are extreeeeemely obvious.

The accent of the mother character (played by a woman from surrey) constantly swings from american to english to australian, apparently this is her normal accent after living in US so long however it is really distracting. The show's explanation of this strange accent was that because she was from a different world she would have a different accent...but then why out of the dozen people from that world that show up is she the only one talking in anything but a US accent?

essentially it's a latin style The Only way is Essex written by Jordan after watching half an episode of The Worst Witch while painting her nails

This is in my personal opinion the best Witch show out there. Lifetime has done a fantastic job of turning the book into a series that is extremely well cast as far as the different woman and what they bring to the table. There is dynamic between these Woman that I personally have never seen before as far as the different characters and what they bring to the table. Whilst the show does have elements of shows that have come before it, it's completely unique in that it explores different era's, past lives, relationships, enemies ect. The show is tongue and cheek and doesn't take itself too seriously which is what makes it stand out. It's dramatic, it's sexy and a fun filled ride. Episode 8 entitled Snake eyes, is definitely the best episode of the season (in my personal opinion). The action/stunts/emotional scenes between Joanna & Wendy make it one of my all time favorites. I also loved the finale. In Season 1 the show was very much finding it's voice and finding it's tone and they have gradually been shifting and shifting the tone of the series and upping the stakes which ultimately leads to a much darker, dramatic second season.

This show started out a little cheesy, but by the end of the first episode I wanted more. It did remind me of Charmed, but that was okay, I liked that show too. I really like the actresses in this show though. Julia Ormand is one of my faves and it is nice to see her in it. There were times in the show where the visual effects and elements stole the show. Those scenes were pretty cool. The best part of the storyline, which I can't divulge without ruining the show, got better as the episodes went along. I ended up really liking this show a lot and am eager to start season 2 now.

I really enjoyed this! A cross between Charmed and Revenge. Beautiful people with magic powers. The acting and script was perhaps a little clunky to start? However once all the characters wee introduced the series seemed to flow very well. There were many laugh out loud moments (mostly from Aunt Wendy) I thought perhaps series 1 was rushed, the reveals seemed to come quite quickly and think they could have taken longer to explore some relationships. However all in all I enjoyed this and am really looking forward to series 2.

OK, I am aware of the books that this series is based on and whilst I haven’t read them, I jumped into this having seen the adverts for series two being advertised (Ed note: the TV series has been cancelled after the conclusion of the second season with multiple threads lest open.)

Whilst I wasn’t sure what to expect the first episode took me back to watching the original series of Charmed and whilst it was only the witchcraft that was the same theme throughout the two the supernatural characters in this one felt more than a little out of sink with the others sharing their screen time.

Don’t get me wrong, it was definitely something that after a few more episodes that I got into however if I’d just watched the first and left it at that I may well have thought not much to it. It does get more interesting and gripping the further into it that you get. All round something a little different and whilst it has a familiarity that supernatural fans can get into.
