Book Description

5 Jun 2003 Banned and the Banished

In a spectacular feat of daring and magic, Elena and her army of outlaws and rebels have defeated the forces of evil and released the arcane secrets of the Blood Diary. But the Dark Lord has unleashed the Weirgates - black wells of perilous energy that are his greatest source of power.

Now Elena and her companions must find and destroy the Gates, as windships carry the fight north to the frozen woodlands, south to the burning desert sands, and east to the blasted regions of dread Gul-gotha.

Not all will return ...

5.0 out of 5 stars Epic Proportions 13 Feb 2004
By lindsay
Format:Paperback
Well, what can I say! Except of course than Clemens is a master. I could not put this book down. The characters split up, in tolkien style, to destroy the weirgates. Full of adventure, magic and even romance, Clemens hooks you again in to this wonderous world.

Clemens introduces new characters with flare and elegance, and takes us in to new worlds beyond belief. When all is lost, a glimmer of hope is shown, causing the reader to read on in anticipation.

Although, the story jumps around from each group of characters, I found that this only encouraged me to keep reading.

I can't wait to start the next and final book tonight.
This would make a great film - Come on Peter Jackson, only you can do this great story justice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic 24 July 2003
Format:Paperback
In the fourth installment of James Clemens' "The Banned and the Banished" series, Clemens surpasses himself yet again. The story flows well, cutting between characters seamlessly, and the plot is gripping as ever. The characters are so well developed, I find myself almost believing they're real. I'd recommend reading the first three books before this, as it's a continuation of a series. Two thumbs WAY up for this book!
