You'll also find a moving and poignant song called Look Mummy, No Hands remembering fondly the caring hands of a parent ready to catch you when you're a child - and wishing they were there when you're an adult. Haven't we all been there?
You really can't go wrong with this album - superb entertainment throughout and a tribute to their particular genre.
And so begins "The Herpes Tango", the first of 20 wonderful songs by the ever-lovely Fascinating Aida. This was, infact, the first CD of theirs which I brought many moons ago and I've been hooked ever since. The songs rang from bittersweet numbers about being left home on "Saturday Night" to hysterical takes on the pitfalls of being in love with man who is "Much More Married" than he said. This particular incarnation of Fascinating Aida features Issy van Randwyck filling the soprano shoes and on top form, especially in "Let's Go To A Hotel". Even after five years, I STILL laugh out loud everytime I hear what she says at the beginning of "Taboo". I know that sounds cheesy, but it really is that kind of CD: one you find funnier and funnier as time goes on.
It's a real shame the video release of this same show has been withdrawn from sale as a lot of the jokes are visual, but still, I cannot fault the CD. Sound quality is excellent, as is the piano playing by Dillie Keane and the singing is perfectly spot-on.
