After many years of being trapped in a gem an evil genie, a Djinn is released into our world. Basically if the person that awakened him, Alexandra Amberson makes three wishes he will destroy humanity as we know it. Along the way to trying to get Aleexandra to do this the Djinn grants a number of of other people wishes but twists their word so as they die... Painfully. It may sound nasty but I can assure you this is a brilliant film. Its kitsch, at times funny and you are guarenteed to enjoy it, if you have a strong stomach that is.

A great little film. No Oscar winner and very silly in places but it's a Wes Craven film so that's to be expected.

If you've not seen it invest a few quid in a second hand copy. It'll be a couple of quid well spent.

the first wishmaster is the best of the lot. the second one is the next best. however if you like 1 and 2 you will hate 3&4
