Amazon.co.uk Review

Andrew Divoff returns as the evil Djinn bent on world domination in this "too good for cinema" sequel to Wishmaster. Released from his prison gem during a failed museum robbery, Djinn transforms from a gooey blob to a demon in human form after granting his first venom-laced wish and takes the rap for the heist and a couple of murders. Meanwhile Morgana (Holly Fields, looking like a B-movie version of Angelina Jolie, without the lips) is haunted by nightmares of the demon and discovers the meaning behind his command, "Fulfill the prophecy": he needs to bag 1,000 souls and then he's Armageddon-bound. Like its predecessor, Wishmaster 2 twists the classic genie-in-the-lamp legend into a sick joke; every wish is granted in the most literal terms, leaving the recipients victims of their own greed and desire in often gory spectacles. The budgetary constraints are evident in the more ambitious effects, notably a calamity of biblical proportions in a Las Vegas casino with computer-animated locusts and unconvincing dismemberments. Divoff makes a low-rent Freddy Krueger, tossing off pale quips with a tight grin and in a raspy, self-important monotone in this Nightmare on Elm Street knockoff. Best to stick with the real thing. --Sean Axmaker, Amazon.com

3.0 out of 5 stars its laughably bad but still good , 9 Oct 2006

Wishmaster 2 follows on from the first movie which is the best in the series and follows the tale of the djinn who once released needs to capture 1000 souls and then the soul of the one who releases him and he does this by giving you one wish in exchange for your soul, the wish however results in pain and blood and seldom do you get what you wish for.
The movie is funny, both deliberately and not as the budget is restrictive when compared to the first movie and some scenes just make you laugh out loud,so for that and the fact that the villain is still pretty cool in human form and demon form then this is watchable.

1.0 out of 5 stars You'll wish you never watched this..., 10 Feb 2005
I just got round to watching Wishmaster 2 last night. I wasn't expecting much which is probably a good thing as this film is pretty dire in every aspect. Andrew Divoff returns as 'the Djinn' who needs to capture 1001 souls in order to rule the earth and does so by granting people wishes with typically gruesome results.

There isn't a lot to say about this film - if this seems plausible it is actually worse than it sounds. Wes Craven(Scream, Nightmare on Elm St)'s name is attached to this franchise but he doesn't direct any of the movies and isn't even involved with this one. Terrible SFX, dodgy costumes, weak acting, a bad, bad storyline and not scary at all - this is one to avoid.

This sequel to wes craven's Wishmaster is just as good as the first but i wouldn't bother with 3 it is very poor i wouldn't know about the fourth because i haven't seen it but if it's by the same director it's probaly crap!

Wishmaster two is full of gore and Andrew Divoff is Excellent in it! The Djinn gets in to prison and as you can imagine they are lot's of prisoners wanting something and after useing up his costomers he move's on to a casino and again lots of waiting customers i would go out NOW andbuy Wishmaster 1&2 and then RENT out 3&4!
