Watch your step! ^^ 22 April 2007
Format:DVD
I'll admit that Wishing Stairs isn't the scariest of films as people make it out to be. However, somehow it managed to find it's way into my favourites section. Why? The characters are believeable, likeable and somewhat peculiar. The storyline isn't too complex (I'm still trying to figure out it's predecessor Memento Mori's.), but there's enough to it that makes your brain go into full gear and start trying to figure out certain things. The subtitles are decent enough. The camerawork was done very well, as was the sound work; the atmoshpere was cold and somehow, you knew that as Jin-sung walked up those stairs, she was making a big mistake. Tension at it's best. Wishing Stairs impressed me greatly, and if you watch it in the dark, there are sure to be some jumps. The lack of gore is something I applaud, as it shows that a film can still be creepy without too much bloodshed (mind you there were SOME moments!).

All I have to say now is that I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Nice 5 Oct 2010
Format:DVD
Although it isn't scary as some other Asian movies, it truly is a nice film to watch, it's not just a ghost story. It's about friendship, jealously and love~ I really like this film, it's not that great of a movie and it could have been better but it's still a nice watch. (with gruesome bits)

The Wishing Stairs 25 Jun 2006
By Dave Kraven VINE™ VOICE
Format:DVD
Being a lover of both South Korean and Japanese horror flicks, I was eager to see this. After watching it for 20-30 minutes, I couldn't watch it anymore because of the hackneyed script (if you count all the 23 steps on the stairs outside the girl's dormitories, a 24th will appear and grant you a wish but if your wish is full of greed and dishonesty, you shall receive your comeuppance) and terrible dialogue but the actors were convincing and the setting's original in this hugely disappointing ghost story. If I were you, watch The Ring Trilogy or The Grudge because you won't get many scares out of this.
