A brilliant album 9 April 2005
By Ivor
Format:Audio CD
This is the band's first album, dating back to 1970, and features their distinctive harmonising lead guitar sound from the very first track. The musicianship is superb, and their style reflects many influences : progressive rock, folk, jazz and blues. All the tracks are extremely good, and the longer songs are all interesting (by no means true of all bands of that time !), incorporating good drum and bass solos. My personal favourite is 'Errors of my Ways', which is probably the most folk-influenced, sounding similar to Fairport Convention, but with fantastic harmonising guitar ! This is simply a classic album which you must add to your collection.

Format:Audio CD
Surely one of the most amazing debut albums of all time, this album has some of the most incredible twin guitar playing you are ever likely to hear (except possibly on Argus!). It rocks, but despite containing only 6 tracks the album is always melodic and tuneful, never allowing the solos to detract from the music.

Masterful 17 Aug 2004
By S. Fox
Format:Audio CD
Absolutely masterful album, beautiful guitar work, every song is simple a classic. The band Wishbone Ash is often overlooked when discussing rock's classic albums, but you will scarcely hear anything better than the material on this CD (Possibly the only exception being Argus!). I've seen the band live twice now and the atmosphere was out of this world as they played several tracks from this album and Argus, and a few later ones. Words cannot express just how good this band is. It's heavenly.

One of their very best
Their eponymous debut and musically still pretty fresh, even though the recording itself sounds a bit aged after all these years and the vocals are weak. Read more
