This novella is about the kidnap of a young girl by her Granddad as a sexual slave. It will really make you stop and think, and wonder what goes on behind closed doors. It's gritty, gripping, and will bring a tear to your eye, but I couldn't put it down. A gruesome subject matter, but is handled exceptionally well by the author.

I was intrigued by the synopsis of this book and as I normally enjoy to read "true life stories" of family relationships, if "enjoy" is the right word to use, I thought I would read it.
It is the relationship between a young girl, her mother, her grandmother and her "G-Pa". Her grandmother was evil, but she seemed to have a good relationship with her G-Pa, although she could not understand why her mother called him the "devil".
As she grows up she finds out more about her family, and some things she wished she didn't know.
I couldn't put the book down. It was well written. Quite graphic in places, but only where the story needed it to be.
I recommend it, but for adults only, and will certainly be reading more books by this author.

Basically rape porn 19 Dec 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I don't understand this book at all. It wasn't badly written, in fact it's quite gripping to start with, but it descends into some bizarre sort of rape porn by the end and, it being fiction, I have NO idea what the writer hoped to achieve. The ending is ridiculously rushed and contrived, and doesn't leave one with any questions, or lessons learnt, or particular emotions. Just removed it from my Kindle - I'd never read it again, it was gratuitously detailed, and altogether a bit creepy.

Just because someone is family does not make them right. We can't pick our family but we can pick our friends. Do you hear what I am saying to you? If your cousin is doing it, that doesn't mean you have to do it. If your wife is doing it, that does not mean you have to do it. But there is one difference between the cousin and the wife. YOU chose your wife, you loved her enough to marry her. You did not choose your cousin. Just because he is blood does not mean you have to deal with him and his crooked ways. "e;

You can stop. All you have to do is make the decision to stop. No excuses. And just because you did something wrong, does not mean that God does not love you. He is a forgiving God and He loves you regardless. You may have hurt your mother, your husband, your sister, your son. They all may not forgive you but God will. All you have to do is ask. Ask Him. Ask Him now. He will forgive you. If you do not have the courage to stop doing the thing or you don't know if it's the devil trying to tempt you, pray. Pray for truth. And you will be shown the way. "e;
