The sparkly cover for this one lured me right in and I'm happy to say that I had no complaints with the content either. This was perfectly frothy, festive chicklit with a guaranteed happily ever after. I also have to say that I was surprised to see this was a M&B- the cover just screams more modern, girly chicklit in the style of Sophie Kinsella or Jane Green- so bravo M&B for that!

The book contains two interlinking tales (that have been released previously by Harlequin) with some shared characters- the first is that of Christy, recently separated from her workaholic ex-husband who finds herself spending Christmas with him again at the behest of their two children. Pretty soon the sparks are flying once more and Christy wonders how she could have ever let him go...

**I really enjoyed this first story. It was nice to read about a woman who had established her own career and had children as opposed to some nubile twenty year old, though the rest of it did read like a more stereotypical M&B with the arrogant male lead and the woman falling a bit weakly at his feet as well as abundant misunderstandings. Christy was somewhat feisty though and the chemistry between her and Alesandro was evident, but he did seem to be a bit of a chauvinist pig at first! I also loved their interfering children and the Lake District setting and could vividly imagine Alesandro's house with its roaring log fire. I couldn't help thinking though that Christy and Alesandro could have just avoided all of their problems in the first place if they'd only talked- though I suppose that wouldn't have made for half as good a story! Overall I would rate this one 4/5- the love scenes were pretty good and the characterisation was decent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mills & Boon But Not As We Know It ! 29 July 2012
By jg
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Would not normally read a Mills & Boon book but was attracted to"Angels In The Snow" on account of the attractive cover. For simple, feel good chick lit it could not be beaten & so I found myself buying a used edition of "Wish Upon A Star" to take on holiday.
These are ideal books for sheer escapism without requiring you to think. Warm, fluffy & with the obligatory happy ending they are just lovely!
Mills & Boon have been very clever to design the covers on these books to stand out & make them appeal to a wider audience & I will no doubt be looking out for similar publications in the future.
Just goes to prove that appearances do matter!

An excellent book with two amazing stories that made me spend some lovely nights reading...Both stories were really hot romantic and full of real love for a change instead of revenge and bitterness....very different plots yet both great ones.
Sarah Morgan knows how to make her readers dream away.

5.0 out of 5 stars Recommended Read 17 Aug 2014

Although I enjoyed the first story about Christy & Alesandro, I loved the second story about Miranda & Jake more - I connected to their story a lot quicker.

This is another feel good, pure escapism book, with the obviously fairytale endings.

Christy & Alesandro are separated with children, but both still want each other and by the end of the book they are back to the expected perfect family.

Whereas Miranda & Jake don't actually become a couple until the end of their story and we spend our time wondering "will they/want they?" (although if we are fans of Morgan we know they will, it's just a question of when).
