Since this book was first published I have owned 5 copies, each of which have been lent out and never returned because it was so enjoyed, and subsequently passed on to more readers. In this post feminist era, so much about the true wisdom and power of women has been passed over. This book has no doubt about both those things. Read it and reclaim some of the sensing and celebration of what it is to be a woman. For men, if you read this, and I hope you do, it will forever change your understanding of and therefor your relationships with women for the better. I LOVE this book and have never read anybook on the subject of being female/womanhood that has more inspired, enriched and encouraged me. I would also highly recommend Women Who Run with the Wolves: Contacting the Power of the Wild Woman (Classic Edition) but that comes from another angle altogether.

Life changer 13 Jun 2009
Format:Paperback
This book changed my life, I read it at 24 years old and for the last 12 years have been growing my own wisdom as a result. I don't know who I would be had I not read this book.
It gave me a language for something which had only ever been taboo before, emotional literacy on what it is to be a woman and tools to help me understand the body that I live in.
I am deeply grateful that this book is still out there.

I'm amazed this book only has 2 reviews! I bought cos it was quoted in something else I read last year and it changed my life...not joking! If my journey of transformation to a happier and self-loving woman started before I read this book, it is certainly thanks to it that I finally went deep down into myself and started questioning a lot of my beliefs and behaviours. This book is not just about menstruation, it's about women's repression throughout history, how to liberate oneself from the prisons within, and start loving oneself. Every woman who feels unhappy with who she is and feels disconnected from herself and nature MUST read this book to restore that connection.
