It explains how to interpret circuit diagrams, wiring systems and the principles and practice of testing and fault diagnosis. It will give the reader confidence to understand the principles of testing and to apply this knowledge to fault finding in electrical circuits.

It is a handy reference for anybody who needs to be able to trace faults in circuits, whether in domestic, commercial or industrial settings. It will be a time-saver for all electricians, plumbers, heating engineers, television and intruder alarm installers and others.

fault finding 2 April 2009
Format:Paperback
Another title with some errors, at the beginning of the book reference is made to BS 60617 symbols, this standard has been dropped in the new IEE 17th edition wiring regulations and yet this book states "entirely up to date with BS 7671 :2008".
Some of the material in the book is to be found in some of Brian's other titles.
The book may be of use for students enrolled on the C&G 2330 level 3 as this has a unit on fault finding, although the book does not go deep enough on the subject of fault finding , rectification and commissioning.

Having had to put up with Scaddan books going through college, you'd of thought I'd have learnt my lesson.
Lulled into a false state of interest by the title, I thought it may give me a bit more knowlege than I already had.
If you're a mech engineer whose looking for a bit of Elec background, this will give you a few pointers particularly on motors, otherwise wouldn't bother, as most of the info is what you proably already know but explained with added confusion.
Positves: Some nice diagrams.
